AP TET is the state level examination. Candidates qualifying this examination will get teacher posts in various Government/ aided/ private schools across the state. AP TET Paper 1 is for aspirants seeking to become primary school teacher (from class I to V) and Paper 2 is for aspirants seeking to become secondary school teacher (from class VI to VIII). Moreover, the AP government has recently brought first-time Paper 3 for language pandits. In these circumstances, the applicants are requesting to extend the dates of AP TET 2018 exam for preparation.
A total of 4,46,833 candidates have applied for APTET. Among these, 1,80,749 candidates are for SGT (Paper 1), 2,12,794 for School Assistants (Paper 2), 53,290 for Language Pandits (Paper 3). The main reason behind so many changes in the APTET exam date is continuous protests by the students and Board exams. They are scheduled to be held in the month of March, therefore the authorities are planning to conduct TET accordingly.
